About

O&B Bayview Village is the first location of Oliver & Bonacini’s casual dining restaurants. This sizeable urban space feels very downtown despite its North Toronto location. A gleaming open kitchen extends into the airy dining room, featuring washed tin ceilings, leather banquettes and dramatic and distinctive light fixtures. The menu offers something for everyone, including fresh, made-from-scratch soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta and fire-roasted pizzas.

Chef Omar McLeod

Omar McLeod

Chef de Cuisine

Since he was a young child cooking alongside his mother in the kitchen in Jamaica, Chef Omar McLeod has always been driven to create delicious food. After moving to Toronto in 1989, Omar’s father helped land him his first paid job in a kitchen. Omar worked tirelessly in the kitchen throughout high school and was dedicated to refining his skills and techniques as a cook. While enrolled in George Brown’s culinary management program, Omar was recruited by the Royal Canadian Yacht Club to become their Chef de Partie. Chef Omar then spent nine years on top of the city, managing the daily kitchen operations of the CN Tower’s restaurant and cafés.

In 2012, Chef Omar joined the team at Oliver & Bonacini Café Grill, Bayview Village as Sous Chef, working directly under Chef de Cuisine Steven Kwon. Since joining O&B, Omar’s passion for exceptional cuisine and commitment to mentorship and personal development have not gone unnoticed. Now, as Chef de Cuisine at O&B Bayview Village, Chef Omar is excited to lead the team in the kitchen and continue to deliver wonderful culinary experiences to guests.

“As a life-long food lover, I can easily say Oliver & Bonacini do not disappoint.”
